I wouldn't class myself as the life and soul of a party, but others do enjoy my wry sense of humour.

I enjoy cooking, and mostly do it from what I call "first principles". I do cook properly for myself, but it would be more fun to do it for others as well.

My work involves being in front of a computer for long stretches at a time, so some may call me a geek. At least I'm not a nerd, which is a geek without a life away from the screen. :-)

Part of my life away from the computer, other than being out and about on my bike, involves being in the Scouting movement and enjoying being in the hills and mountains. I've combined this in the past with being involved with the DofE Award and supervising the Expedition section.

Back at home I'm reasonably practical, and do quite a bit of fixing of things around the house and garden.

I'm just under 6ft, of average build. Have a neat beard that isn't quite as dark brown (!) as the rest of my hair, though the hair is starting to catch up, but it frames a wonderful smile! :-)

Looking for someone, maybe a bit younger than myself, for friendship, social rides, companionship, and maybe romance or possibly more. Preferably someone who likes being a pillion, as well as riding her own bike.

I don't have any children, so meeting someone who also doesn't might be easier. My siblings, cousins, and past partners do have so I'm used to having youngsters around if you do have. I've also been involved with leading the older sections in Scouting (Ventures and Explorers) so I normally get on well with kids.
