I was chatting to a lass from rochdale for 3 years via the internet and we were gettin on great. 4 months ago things seemed a little iffy so i did some research n found out 80% of the stuff she had told me was lies. But i was hooked and eventually we met, we got on even better in real life and i used to make the 166mile trip each week to see her. Then she booted her partner out and two weeks later we are over too. Makes me think she was using me all the time and in the end used me as a reason to get rid of her partner too. Maybe i was just unlucky?? So how do you know if someone is bein honest with you?? and this doesnt just apply to internet dating either.

Thats the only problem with internet dating, the other person can tell you what they look like, enjoy doing, marital status etc, and none of it could be true! Women in particular have to be so careful, but there again, I suppose blokes could end up with a bunny boiler too . I chat to a lot of people online, but always say no when they ask me out. Just in case ....

hey tbone, it must be a Rochdale thing we're just all weirdos (Im from Rochdale as you probably know) lol. Bikeless, as you know we are only 7 days old. However, in the not to distant future there will be Biker Match meets all over the UK. This is to enable people to meet each other in a secure and friendly environment (And a good excuse for a piss up anyhow, haha). Dates, times, venues etc to be confirmed. I am actually hoping for somebody to take the events task on board but will email details as such in the not to distant future

internet dating can work if you want it to! I've been separated for 3 years now and dated thro intrnt sites since-- found some very nice people who care for me loads, alas I had a very special love------but thats another story----------, so guess the answer is Yes does work if you want it to??? Rushwind its always windy when you're working

Glad it does work, I know a few who have successfully found great partners through websites. Its a very convenient and friendly way to speak to people who you might not do in a pub for example.

Once upon a time when the world was ruled by dinosaurs, I met someone via the internet and used to travel 360 miles each way most wekends to see her ......... but it just died but i thin it would have anyway. Then it was 200 miles and that lasted a bit longer, but guess what ? At the moment I'm seeing someone who lives only 50 miles away and that seems to be working out, it does mean we can see each other during the week if we need to, i.e. shit day at work or whatever and we need a cuddle (I'm a softie really). Long distance can work tho I think but it really needs to be worked at by both parties, one of the issues it that if one of the partners needs a weekend off as it were, perhaps to got to a friends do or what ever then it means 2 weeks not seeing each other and the relationship needs to be strong, also the potential for worrying what the other is doing seems to rear its head occasionally, so trust needs to be strong. BTW, I am available for consulting discount rates for BM members, mind you I did try consulting laura and she said that I had to stop as she didnt think matt could match up to me and it wasnt fair to him

I've tried internet dating, and have had several successes, though none have ended up as a permanent partner. I do limit my range to about 30-40 miles as I've done working away from home (250 miles in one case) and am now getting a bit too old/curmudgeonly for doing that for dating. Just met a Harley rider last week from only about 15 or so miles away, and me a Beemer rider, so here's keeping my fingers crossed.

Berks_biker - glad to hear of your successes, and I hope all goes well with your new friend. Let us know how you get on. Did you meet online? Joe - sorry to hear you've not been so successful. Run a few searches on Biker Match to see how you get on. Even better, set up a MatchMaker alert in your account and you will be notified via email when a new member registers who suits you!
