They normally have a ships cat, so a barge should be allowed an ozzie. Kids wellllllllllllllllllllllllll maybe we need someone to open the lock gates

kids & dogs love narrow boats...got some piccys on my profile of my trusty crew. Doggie not present on the piccies but I've been on a narrow boat with a border collie & he had a great time. The hire company will probably just say keep him off the furniture BJ will maybe need to source a boatyard that can supply a flotilla of narrow boats methinks

You know that the price isn't that much more for a full week?

Circa £600-£750 for a weekend or around a grand for a full week.

That's for something like a 70ft narrow boat which is the sort of size you'd need for up to ten people.

The price for a 4 night midweek break is the same as for a 3 night weekend. The only drawback would be having to book extra time off work. But u could go that bit further. Please state preferences: w/e; midweek; full week About 2 dozen shown an interest so far. If we book soon, we may get an earlybird discount. Possible flottila discount.

Oooh, count me in if there is any space left... (though no worries if there isn't). I LOVE canal boat holidays. And I am VERY helpful doing all the locks!! Can't wait to get to a few events and actually meet some of you rather than just chatting online. xx

Lolo 5 welcome aboard, nice that someone else will know what they are doing on a barge cuz there are a few here i think have no idea. But keep it quiet / watch them and just have a laugh, someone is bound to go overboard. Hello ship mates

Not sure what's happening here. This thread is for a Friday to Monday long weekend break, that's where the couple of dozen interest is. If other folk want to organise a mid-week or week-long break then please start another thread for that so we can gauge interest on this one properly and avoid confusion
