90 percent rewired my 750 vulcan and junked most of the kwaker over the top stuff ...more or less only igniter and generator oh and starter original lol...might wind up with a 750 toaster
Came back from weekend on Sunday,my attempted repair using "all common solvent" proof stuff having failed...what's more common than petrol or it's derivitives, ffs??? Found an identical colour tank on Ebay, and haggled the price down too...:) Looks like i'd better check Marilyn from top to bottom after this fiasco...only trust your own work seems to be an appropriate sentiment...hey ho.
Fitted replacement tank on Marilyn, but flattened dodgy battery trying to get her fired up...trickle charger connected up...hope it's good enough to take me over to VMCC Banbury Run on Sunday...:/>
Tank back off Marilyn,so i can do the fuel tap diaphragm job, which i ignored in my eagerness to just get her fired up...a little more patience required i suspect, lol :)>
179 miles today in total, off to Gaydon in Warwickshire for the start and finish of the VMCC Banbury Run..managed to secrete myself at the tail end of the vintage bikes and followed their zigzagging route through villages and hamlets to Banbury, stopping to ask if folk were okay, when i came upon them at the roadside..only one reckoned he wouldn't be able to get it going again...a 1920's AJS with magneto problems, bless him..hope he got back okay. Back at Gaydon,i visited the Motor Museum,as it was included in the entry price...absolutely brilliant, made LeMans museum look boring, more bikes on show too...recommend for any petrolhead...got 3 miles from home when deluge came, otherwise lucky with weather overall. Posting pictures up tonight..kept clicking until the camera battery died, lol
Wednesday night,Bikenite at the Anchor Inn,Fladbury, opened up Marilyn on M5 coming back,(110 to avoid the approaching rain clouds,honest)...Thursday,Usual pootle up to Tetbury and back on Verity(ta)...finished rubbing down panniers ready to paint Platinum to match Marilyn's bodywork(ooer),realised i have no masking tape,poo...:( Adjusted Verity's chain for spite and gave it a good lubing, for spite...;)>
I've MOT'd Big10 and been for a pleasant nimble round Northumberland, bits of Scotland, some of Cumbria and back. Cracking fun, a couple of hundred miles of sod all traffic. Who says this island's roads are overcrowded?
Beautiful sunny morning,so before the assholes next door fire up their barbeque and ruin a grand spraying/washing drying day,i applied the first light coats of Platinum Triumph paint to the panniers,to match with Marilyn's paint scheme...
I ride to work everyday, and so need to get me a go pro. I've got this minivan school bus driver on a mission to catch me out, after calling him for pulling out on me last week. (No swearing or anger just asked him what's is problem and why force me to change direction?😇. He then preceded to tail date me so eventually I pulled over to let him past.
The same loon tried to ram me into oncoming traffic today twice.
I've reported him to the local council as is a school special needs bus. I'll keep you posted for when they reply.
I don't wish him the sack, but he needs to calm his road rage.
I'm the event he kills me. Please post this message to Bury Council with the header 'SCH10 she tried to ask you to help' lol 🤣. I have to laugh this kind of stuff off else would be scared to keep riding x
Fitted the new rack to Marilyn,2 minute job, looked nicer with just grab handles(don't we all??),but need to cart tents and rally stuff about...:)> /\ /\🏍🏍
Thursday, and a ride to work and back in glorious sunshine, home and trying to finish polishing up both panniers before i go a-wandering on Saturday morning
Wasn't today, it was a few days ago. I put the grab rail back on, after getting sick of passengers leaning on me with all their body weight when I'm braking. Still, it has its benefits ;-)
