A noble hope, Linda, but a pretty forlorn one I fear where the tabloids are concerned.
All newspapers and broadcasters feed off what's unusual, whether they're serious and intellectual or plain boot-in-the-groin tabloids. And I'm afraid the un-natural death of a highly thought-of top policeman is pretty unusual in anyone's book.
At least a modern police force should be pretty good at protecting his family from the worst excesses. Or I hope it is.
