Any one who can't get on the Bandit Lovers camp site should try the Winking Man pub, this is just down the road from the BL site and is the pub where they are going to on the Friday night, i have rang them and there is a few camping pitches available, they have no facilitates after the pub closed but i think it's free. If you want to camp there ring them direct on 01538 300361

understand your Q now. Trish if the site is full and there is no other site local that can take the overspill then there is not much you can do
The only other site that I found that could cope with the capacity was 8 miles away from the Winking Man and this was considered to not be suitable for a couple of reasons. There is a pub right next to that campsite, but the pub menu was considered very expensive and it appeares to be a 'posh' restaraunt and I felt that unfair on people perhaps wanting a light snack. Also, there is transport laid on from the Winking Man to and from the campsite we are going to be at, it might still mean that we may have to arrange a couple of taxis (or I do the taxi run myself) as the guy only has a 9 seater minibus. The guy also has a set pick up/drop off route and he can't detour from that and he certainly wouldn't travel the 8 miles to the alternative campsite.
Well Bill, this must have all changed within the last week because I can only tell you what I was told when I contacted him, and they haven't updated their website to reflect this change.
Anyone wanting to make their own arrangements for camping is more than welcome to do so, the one linked to this event is now full to capacity.
The last thing that I want to do is to upset the campsite owner and take advantage of her by exceeding the headcount she has given me. She was very happy having us there last year and I would certainly hope that this is a site that we can keep returning to.

I rang up & left a voicemail cos I would like to camp Friday night, but the landlord hasn't got back to me yet....not sure I fancy camping if I'm the only one though. Spooky lol
Just rang up the winking man and got through this time. All the camping pitches are full up for Friday night....doomed not to get my bop and meet up with bm chums this year methinks
this is why I was sceptical about this thread and whilst all help is appreciated by those organising events, sometime too many cooks!!.....what more can I say!!!!!
