Going to Faro, Portugal on Sunday,
Ferry to Northern Spain and then a long ride.
If I can find cyber caffs, I will post here and give progress reports.
Leaving the Midlands on the 10th July (Sat) and returning to them on the 27th July.

I went to Motoclub Faro in 2008 and it was awesome!!!
We flew that year but was booked to bike it down the following year.. unfortunately it dint happen :o(

Well it`s Saturday and we have been at Faro since Thursday evening.
Its a great bike fest and here in Portugal it doesn´t matter whether you ride a Harley, Triumph, Scooter or Moped, if you are on two wheels you are a biker. This is what I have been ´preaching ´for years and those that think differently I feel really sorry for.
Three couples and me set out together but we picked up another couple on the ferry to Santander. The ride down was amazing with very little traffic, great roads (no potholes!). The sweeping bends once off the motorway are a biker´s dream.
The five bikes travelling together are two Triumphs, a Harley, a Yamaha and a Honda.
We have had the usual once in a lifetime experiences that you have on this kind of trip.
We got directed to a bar one day on the ride down. It was on an industrial estate, a bit rough looking with loads of flies around. We then heard the sound of lambs in distress. The cafe~bar was next to an abbatoir, as we got on our bikes to leave another lorry load was delivered, the noise they made disturbing even for us ´tough´bikers.
Who could forget that though?
We decided, any annoying people we met on the journey would be recommended the `Abbatoir Bar´.
When I get chance I will give details of the route, campsite and other interests, also of course the bike fest itself.
The ´Abbatoir Bar´ location may also be revealed, maybe!
