Rugby... possibly... Footie? Not likely... they're all pansies since Vinnie Jones went off to be a film star! What's the point of watching a bunch of pansies running around a field?
Saw this in some tourism info for visitors to Scotland Cassie:
17. Celtic are known as the ‘Gers due to being formed by Gerry
O'Malley a fruit importer who was the first man to introduce citrus
fruit to Scotland. So if you walk into a pub filled with people wearing
green and white say "Up the ‘Gers, I'm proud to be an orange man!" and
you will receive a warm welcome.
Yep, don't get the whole football thing myself either (overpaid, blatant cheating, blind fanaticism and WTF is all this interest in WAGs??)
BTW, thanks for that WB - will try that tonight in the local bar after I have hung up my bowler hat and umbrella and ordered my cup of tea and cucumber sandwich...
2. In Highland pubs always ask for plenty of water when drinking
the local single malts, this tells the locals that you like it so much
that you want to make it last longer. After your first sip announce to
everyone in the bar in a loud voice "This is pish!" from the Gaelic
Piesh Na' lavvy meaning Water of God.
