just been told my funding application (it's what I do for a job!) has been approved and Ive been granted £22k for an astroturf pitch at a sports centre in a badly deprived area!!! They need it so badly and I worked so hard to get it for them.............now I have whooooooooooooooooooooo rock on, smiling from ear to ear..........at last lol!!!!
Aaaaarrghh astroturf!!! The skin is only just beginning to grow back now after sliding on it about 10 years ago.... (made worse cos of all the sand in it too...)
Anyhoo, what made me smile - walking into Tesco's today with all my loose change to pour into their Coinstar machine and coming out with £90.08!!!
well done Bh great to hear of stuff like that happenin its just a shame that there always seems to be a fight for this sort of thing to happen when money gets wasted on pointless other things
Thanks BJ Nut and Drobe, it made my day, alot of work went into it andit's badly needed out there to keep the kids off the streets and getting into trouble! Yes, astroturf can be quite forgiving TC I agree but it's the lessor of two evils for these kids and ensures they have somewhere to play ball games and something more positive to do with their time and energy. Money for this sort of thing getting harder to get as Drobe says which makes me even more proud that this one came though!!!! ...still smiling at the difference this will make to them all out there, makes my job worth while!!
