yes, been there done that 4 times with redundancy, end of contract etc and yes, no matter what you achieve you are just a number that can be lost at any time when it suits the company. However, got to do what you can, leave em wanting more and hopefully your work and reputation will stand you in good stead and you'll find something else as I have. Still working to make it long term tho but not worrying about it..........just yet................what will be will be and its funny how sometimes, something happening out of the blue makes you take a different route you otherwise wouldnt! Its not always bad...............it can sometimes have some positive spin-offs.............a positive "can do" attitude always helps.........so does "fingers crossed" lol! Best of luck if it happens to you look after yourself cos when push comes to shove, your employers are unlikely too lol!

My boss pissed me off so much, I left. My parting shot was to let his tyres down! Childish? - certainly, but it made me feel sooooo much better!

Seeing my previous home as just a pile of stones. As many of you will already know I had to leave my previous home (16mths ago) cos the council were going to demolish it, along with the other half dozen houses on my row and 3 blocks of flats behind it, well...finally they've done it. Everything has gone. I was a bit sad when I went past on the bus, and saw just a large heap of stones where my home used to be. I wonder if the new flats will resemble the architect's plans. Oh yea, if you remember me telling you about a squatter, in the flats, when I lived in the house, the cops said to me 'He's harmless' (after I told them about him lobbing a cooker or washing machine down some stairs and selling it to the scrap man across the road lol) well they must have egg on their faces cos the flat he was squatting in was set alight and the cops are looking for the 'vagrant' Not so harmless after all or just trying to get warm? They aren't looking very far, he was in the town centre yesterday and he's there quite often. I now live in a quiet area in a *bigger house with a huge back garden and glad to be rid of the constant noise of traffic and emergency services sirens going past every few minutes. I didn't realise how bad my nerves had got til I moved here. Sometimes the silence is deafening lol *It has no soul tho, my previous home may have been ancient and small but it felt like home.

....another chapter Kwak and about moving forward, nothing remains the same life happens and we all need to make changes alongside it................remembering good and bad things about the past but hopefully bringing more good than bad for the future - change is always a bit difficult to adjust to though! I always think of the positives not the negatives and just look forward never back............all part of the journey, I hope the quiet, nice big garden, more space etc bring you so very much more. Take care and good luck xx

To add insult to injury, i did the right thing and informed my bike insurers aswell, only to be told it will put my bike renewal up by £4. Wots that all about...... So i'm a bigger risk on a bike now because some dozy van driver cant see where he is going......

babyharley, thanks and good luck to you too Jackie ~ NONE!! I like my peace and quiet lol Paul ~ I'd change insurers, how can a 'no fault' accident involving your car have any effect on your bike insurance? They're extracting the urine! What's the name of the insurer, Scrooge, Scrooge and Scrooge? Sumo ~ Maybe Santa will bring you a new one

wasn't quite sure whether to put this in what made you happy thread or this one & have plumped for this one, anyway..... My house went on the market this week - the sign went up yesterday & it's now on Rightmove. Am sad cos I've lived in Holmfirth for the past 11 1/2 years & I absolutely love it, but am also happy in that this is the time to make changes & it's all quite exciting - scareee but exciting! **ask me again in 6 months if it hasn't sold - then I'll be sh***ing meself! lol** Oh - also got me offer of VR today...again not particularly sad as am fed up with this job & need to move on. Also the VR isn't a particularly brilliant package hence why the house needs to sell within 6 months!!
