language mr moderator !!!!, dont stoop to there level geoff, otherwise they wil start to target bikes etc..... and you dont want the situation where your confronting a gang of youths no matter how much you can handle yourself....just take step back buddy, what goes around comes around......
Max - if you're serious about this - don't dismiss the AA. They have an excellent set-up, tried and tested by thousands over the years. You can be as anonymous as you like - call yourself Florence if you want to, nobody cares what name you use. No surnames keeps it anonymous for those who want to use their real first names.
It's an excellent support network and you'll be able to phone your buddy in the middle of the night, if necessary, to help keep you on the straight & narrow.
You'll find that you're not alone and that there are people out there with way bigger issues than your own. You'll find that you can help others just as much as they can help you.
You might figure it's not for you - but don't dismiss it without trying. Check out their website and find the meetings near to you. If you don't like one lot, then go to another meeting in the area.
First step, as Rusty says, go to your GP. But it's really helpful to get yourself into a support network. Your GP will have information on what's available in your area.
I went to confront the person I saw keying my car... chased after him, thinking he was some sort of young spotty yob (jeans, checked shirt and benny hat)... until he turned to jump a fence, when I realised he was late 60s, early 70s!
Stopped me dead in my tracks... Torn between thinking I'd either give the old boy a heart attack by confronting him about what he'd done or that he was a few screws loose and would probably stab me while yelling that god told him to do it!
I believe subsequently that it was a "targeted" attack with a spot of mistaken identity thrown in for good measure. A younger bloke knocked on my door a few days later, demanding to see "Kay" and he "KNEW" she was living here because that was "her" car. WRONG!
Can I hear you say "sorry"? No. Didn't think so. How about paying for the sodding damage then? No? Well GTF out of my face then!
Unfortunately Geoff, the sprogs may just have been smug cos they think it's funny (so many of them do - I'd like to see how funny they think it is when their motors are the subject of mindless vandalism in a few years' time), so you can't take that as an admission of guilt. It's very likely it was them, but you know that the only person standing up in court on charges would be you.
Take her off the market then sis, whatever decision made you decide to sell her is being mightily out-weighed by the grief your feeling now, don't put yourself through it xxxxx
