Will it help if I changed the events calendar so that you can post comments and have discussions under each event?

By way of a link to the forums or will you be able to access the comments/discussions either way?

Hey another Rochdalian... welcome to the site! :-) Re the comments... i mean i could create a section within each event for people to post up information/comments, like feedback on the event etc.

IMHO I think it would make the calendar messy. The forum is the place to post to arrange meeting points etc and chat room to chat about the events. Give the moderators a break Matt lol besides there's only so many woo oos and yeehaas you can stand init I think it would be good if we could post some text under the photos, but not whole dialogue. No doubt I'll be in the minority where I usually am lol

You're not on your own in the minority Kwak! It would make the calendar messy, that's why I assumed there was going to be some sort of link to a section in the forum, as that's where everything is discussed. And thanks for the welcome Matt

i'm with u on this 1 too Kwak , we all know how the forums stray miles of the beaten track , it would have to be info / discussions directly related to the events , think the mods would b run ragged taking all the crap out

Might be an idea to allow picture captions, but I'm not convinced about events hosting their own thread.
Am I the only one who has difficulty in setting the times for a submitted event? Never seems to work properly for me.

what about at the 'post reply' box a quick return to 'active topics' instead of scrolling up each time....unless i'm missing something here!

Well thats the point - there can't be a link to the forum topics because the calendar doesn't know which forum topic coresponds with the event. Hence I'm suggesting that LOGGED IN users can post on the event details page (under the attendance list?) Wills - the times on events is being fixed this week, i promise. 3 people have said the same thing in the past week, and i even experienced it myself. It's crappy javascript in the calendar that causes the problem... i'm just gonna have it as a free-typing text box. Excalibur... ive no idea what you just said lol. If it's not related to this topic, please start a new topic or PM me. :-) So we all want to be able to add comments to pics? I can't see how its gonna fit in with the current layout though. The whole photos thing needs redesigning, but its hard to do if I want tagging to work (especially with that pile of crap Firefox)

what about at the 'post reply' box a quick return to 'active topics' instead of scrolling up each time....unless i'm missing something here! excalibur, if you mean to go back to the top of the page, then just hit the HOME key on your keyboard and it should go back to the top of the page Matt if it's not easily sorted so we can add text to photos, don't worry, we haven't got it now so we won't miss it, but please don' t make it so that loads of dialogue can be added. A NEXT button is more important, IMHO.
