I've got a ped and where the speedo is, ive got a plastic cover. The plastic cover has been smashed but everything still works I have covered the broken plastic with tape and can still see the speedo fine. Will that fail on a Mot?
If it works ok and there are no sharp edges I think you will be fine but just call into a local bike shop or MOT station and ask worst they can do is say it will fail its test when you take it in
It's not the speedo that's the issue but the plastic covering it, it's been smashed so I've covered it with tape and has no a sharp edges and can see the speed clearly. Shame I can't post pictures on here
If it was built before 1937 Jink it's exempt:) Got a copy of the Construction & Use regs here, from when I worked in automotive supply, though you can probaby google it all now.
I have to say the easiest solution is, as JP says, go in to the MoT station and ask before you take the bike in. Simple, convenient and legally correct at the point of contact.
