yarg @ 23/07/2017 09:01

LMAO
dennyboo @ 23/07/2017 09:43

Yarg, what happened?

Has anyone captured any error message for me yet? I've checked all the server logs and see no problems
Matt @ 23/07/2017 19:28

Hi Matt, someone messaging me is having the same issue again.
I returned a message and it stop me putting any more text in after two short paragraphs. That's not normal. I'll ask if there were any error messages.
Lynne @ 26/07/2017 05:56

I think the issue is fixed on the NEW website.

I cannot fix the old site anymore.

Please use the new site for sending private messages and also for the forums. Please let me know the first sign of any messages going missing (so I can run and cry)

I do happen to have a spare copy of "The Internet For Dummies" and "IT For Silver Surfers" you can have,Matt.....but you'll have to pay the postage...

Just tried to post something on here(new BM site) for"what music are you listening to?"....15 times, and it just vanishes...thought i was doing something wrong the first couple of times....but it just drops into a black hole....???
jinx57 @ 14/08/2017 21:35

What happened? Did the "Post reply" button appear?
When you clicked it, did a little cog-wheel appear?
Did that cog-wheel eventually disappear and the page attempt to refresh?
Really curious, because the page shouldn't attempt to refresh unless the post is successfully added to the database.
Matt @ 14/08/2017 22:22

Just looked completely normal...no cogs, springs, levers,no message box or error graphics...?
jinx57 @ 14/08/2017 22:36

Went onto old site, and hey presto,1st time,no problem...?
jinx57 @ 14/08/2017 22:36

Cyberspace still seems to be eating occasional messages
Woo Woo Blu @ 17/08/2017 12:32

Hungry devil isn't it,lol
jinx57 @ 17/08/2017 14:36

Sounds like me, I'm always hungry too
Woo Woo Blu @ 17/08/2017 21:19

The way the old is is programmed is like this....
You hit the send button - the server should receive your post and save into database - client presumes it's been received and saved

The NEW website works better, in theory. It does this...
Sends the message to the server - server saved the post and tries to get an ID for it - the server sends the ID back to the client and the client refreshes the screen.
IF the client gets anything back other than a confirmation and ID number then it will warn you that the message didn't save, allowing you to try and post again.
