I do happen to have a spare copy of "The Internet For Dummies" and "IT For Silver Surfers" you can have,Matt.....but you'll have to pay the postage...

Just tried to post something on here(new BM site) for"what music are you listening to?"....15 times, and it just vanishes...thought i was doing something wrong the first couple of times....but it just drops into a black hole....???

What happened? Did the "Post reply" button appear?
When you clicked it, did a little cog-wheel appear?
Did that cog-wheel eventually disappear and the page attempt to refresh?
Really curious, because the page shouldn't attempt to refresh unless the post is successfully added to the database.

The way the old is is programmed is like this....
You hit the send button - the server should receive your post and save into database - client presumes it's been received and saved

The NEW website works better, in theory. It does this...
Sends the message to the server - server saved the post and tries to get an ID for it - the server sends the ID back to the client and the client refreshes the screen.
IF the client gets anything back other than a confirmation and ID number then it will warn you that the message didn't save, allowing you to try and post again.
