My brand new waterproofs when it started hammering it down this afternoon...... until I realised I'd left them at home!! But then all I could do was smile at my stupidity and embrace the rain because after all, I was still out on my bike :)

Ferret Funday. About 100 well behaved ferrets, running down tubes, through mazes, performing tricks, knocking down skittles and looking cute.

Loved it, nice meeting other besotted ferret fanciers as well.

I don't like to be negative zzrbabe42, but I would not use a Split link supplied or not, Rivet link only in my book for safety reasons.

i dont either but how do you think people got on over the last god knows how many years when all chains had split links if it is fitted correctly then there is no problem
otherwise they would not be allowed to sell them.

So whats the safety resons? I have never had a problem with a split link

I agree that they have sold them for years, but when was the last time a Bike manufacturer fitted them to a large bike? I've seen the damage to Crankcases and swingarms and wheels, and even Carbs when a clip has come off, the reasons it came off I don't know but it can happen, I'm not having a dig, I just care about your safety. If It was me, fit it with your split link, buy a Rivett link and get a Bike Dealer to rivett it on for you when you ride there. This is an Old debate on many Forums, interesting reading!

Well in my opinion a rivet link done by a home mechanic who is shall we say not very good is more dangerous than any split link. Most manufactures fit endless chains to get you back in the workshop after you have read your bike manual and it tells you to strip most of your bike down to fit your endless chain.
