Realising that despite his best efforts to fix my broadband
The BT Outreach engineer was no more successful than his predecessors
Seems I'm doomed to receive rubbish internet connections
Unless I sign up to BT
Finding my Baby laid forlornly on her side I had to rescue the new cover from the top of the garden Suppose I should be grateful I didn't lose it altogether WIND has ripped the security strap off Fortunately only smashed the offside mirror off its bolts I "might" be able to repair it with epoxy resin Otherwise it'll mean a new one
On top of that I've lost me broadband AGAIN
Having to use my dongle
After watching the news tonight for the 1st time in about a year there is nothing to make me sad only other peoples loss, when you see that there are folk out there losing every thing they have worked for there whole life just going under in the floods, Famers not being able to feed there livestock and when this does go down the fields will be mud for the rest of the year at least. No offence but MZ you lost a small bit of strap and your broadband don't work RB your gate has broken none of us lucky ones can complain.
what those people are going through is horrendous
all the squaddies stationed in the uk should be there helping
and getting it sorted:- David Cameron stop doing a PR thing
and get all the forces in gold command can't sort this quickly
they don't have a disciplined and organised body of personnel
GET ALL THE FORCES IN NEW
Speaking to @Stuie, a little while after he got home from a hard day at work and found his new beloved baby on the ground. I know its all about perspectives n all that but he was gutted. More for the fact that he couldnt check for damage and/or risk lifting it up for it to go down again. Hope you get time today Stu.
I hope everyone else escaped relatively unscathed after an interesting nite of being battered by high winds and rain.
My heart goes out to those who are suffering in the floods and ongoing chaos.
We are all entitled to be fed up at our own losses, as long as our perspective is right, its not a problem.
I do wonder why folk keep on about get the armed forces involved, what is it that folk are expecting them to do that they are not already doing. I work alongside the military and they are involved in producing and deliverying sandbags, rescuing folk from their homes, distributing food and water to isolated areas etc etc, theyjust dont advertise it.
here here jackie maybe if the enviroment agency did their job properly and dealt with dredging rivers etc etc we wouldnt be having such a problem.also this country needs to stop building on flood plains!!!!!
Totally agree Jackie. There are lots of pages on FB where people are crying out for help and support. The clean up operations is the time when they require most number of hands, and if you 'like' the pages, they will keep you informed of the operations and when perhaps they can make us of your help. This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done
Jp thank you!! It will all be fine soon I hope . I guess I must have needed a lesson in appreciating small things like people's kindness, how beautiful the world is by candle light and moon light ,the power of stillness and silence and how vital torches are !! All noted!! X
