No need to panic. It's not for sale according to MCN
UPDATE: 16:14
Brian Robinson of Titan Property Group, owners of the Mallory Park
estate has contacted Motorcycle News to state that Mallory Park circuit
is not for sale.
By BSB desk Mallory Park owner Chris Meek is rumoured to be in talks with a large developer to sell the circuit for £8m for a 2200-home development should discussion with residents over noise restrictions fall through.A handful of recently-retired people in nearby Kirkby Mallory have complained to Hinckley & Bosworth District Council about the amount of noise the circuit makes. And a compromise set out by the authority would restrict the circuit's active days to a degree where it would not be financially viable to operate. There is a meeting tomorrow evening in order to try and hammer out a way for the circuit to operate.David Wilson Homes, owned by Barratt, had been linked to the sale but a spokesman for the firm this afternon categorically denied any involvement.
if you buy a home near a bike race circuit why the feck do you then have the right to complain about the noise and actually be listened to .......... its hilarious this planet and its self crowned "rulers"
i see now nellie... i had heard rumours of this before actually...... dumbwits... be like me buyin house near gatwick then complaining about planes when i know they are there when i buy the house
Suzie its like the folk by b/ham airport been trying to block the expansion for years only trouble is if thay had done a proper planning check when the housing estates were built thay would have know it was passed in the 1970s for the runways to be changed and A45 to be moved and lowered to allow a better aircraft approach to the runway
we had staverton airport banned for bike racing used due to excessive noise in the seventies ....two practice days and one sunday.....and yet multi prop aircraft louder than any bike used 364 days a year and still do....local living councillers backhanders again...a 70's scandal(true)..
From the websites I've been looking at, it's six of one, half a dozen of the other when it comes to Mallory Park and local residents. There's an agreement in place for 92 track events a year. That's been since the 1980s and everyone's stuck to it, race course and residents. Now in these harder times, the race course says it needs to have 160 events a year to be viable. Residents are objecting, and the course says if it can't have the 160 events then the land could be sold for development. Seems to me nobody's 100 per cent right, nobody's 100 per cent wrong. Where do we go from here? Search me
