Getting up early at 8 to take advantage of the sunshine
Only to find a deep frost outside and everything white over
Even now at 10 its still freezing out there and the bike cover is stiff as a board
And the sun has already moved past the gable end so no chance of it warming the cover
So much for my outside fixing day
Best laid plans etc
I had my first job interview since November.
I spent half a day researching the company.
Sent my best suit to the drycleaners.
Had a haircut, and even shaved my whiskers off.
Had a cracking interview, no hesitations, answered all questions, and it developed into more of a conversation than an interview. Left with smiles all round.
I really thought I was in with a very good chance.
I've just heard that they have filled the post 'internally'.
What a f**kin waste of time; both theirs and mine.

I've had that happen to me back in my school days.......so after that whenever I saw a post advertised, I always asked if it had been advertised internally BEFORE I bothered applying. As far as I understand it - but don't quote me as the goalposts may have changed...... by law internal posts HAVE to be advertised, even if they already have someone earmarked for it!
Finding out that there will be one very happy smiley face missing at Nabd events from now on. RIP Ken, who passed away at the weekend at the Dragon Rally.
Having to cut about 5 inches off work trousers and STILL turn them up and sew another 2 inches as that is company workwear's idea of 'small' for ladies....it would be funny if it wasn't so time-consuming
