Not as serious as other people's problems, or troubles, but it makes me just as sad...the repairman said he was coming this afternoon to look at my broken washing machine and he hasn't arrived. I'm running out of clothes, not that I've got that many and the washing is mounting up. For once I'm glad I'm not working, I'd hate to lose pay for nothing, he could at least have phoned to tell me he wouldn't be able to make it!

sandi, most modern washing machines are quite simple when it comes to repair, printed circuit board-not a repair-bearings,repairable but a pain;brushes-most common off all ,slghtly fiddly, widely available for all models but a doddle to do.will look up the best u.k. on-line repair manual site for you when i get a chance.....most use good illustrations ,clear text, save a lot of money on future bills! jinx x

Women are such vain creatures; they insist on buying shoes at least one size too small, and then totter about with a grin (grimmace) on their chops! Sod the shoes V (u really hav gotta nuff), and put some petrol in the tank instead, then go for a blast - guaranteed to give u a cheshire cat style grin!

Aww Jinx, what a lovely post, thank you, sadly I won't need the manual for this machine, it's been given the last rites. This is where I APOLOGISE TO JIM THE REPAIR MAN, he phoined me about 7pm and turned up just after, no call-out charge and diagnosis in seconds, it's fooked...erm I mean he said it's dead. The 'spider' ?? holding the drum in place has broken. He also gave me advice on what machines to consider buying (not from him, he just repairs them) which is very helpful and advice also free of charge. I have to add that Jim mended my fridge freezer over 5 yrs ago, for £40 and it's still alive (hope that's not famous last words) it's about 20 years old Jim's recommended washing machines are: Beko WM - cheap parts Bosch LG DISCLAIMER: I, Sandi, take no responsibility for anyone buying those machines, if said machines perform less than satifactorily.

Aww Boss Mom, I know how you feel, I've got a stinker too, it's gone on to my chest and I'm coughing like a donkey braying and my throat is raw. Radical, I hope you get your accommodation problem sorted out, go to the council and put your name down on the homeless list if you haven't already, it's what I did. You don't have to be physically homeless, I wasn't. I was staying at a friends house. This happened about 10 yrs ago for me so please don't be disappointed if it's changed or your local council don't work in the same way as mine, good luck. ZZR I'm sad to know that, I hope that something can be done to make your situation easier to live with. for you all

Completely hacked off with recurrent lower back issues - thought I had this thing beat after several months of physio. Wasn't as if I was doing anything stupid - yesterday had breakfast and sat at the computer to go through emails - got up and 'twang'.

Had good weekend planned as well - blast down to the South Coast, a morning taking a dinghy out on the water, back up to London for the Happy Mondays in Brixton. Hopefully will still make the gig but any form of riding or sailing is out. Will also put the 'bosh on resurrecting my funky moves of the late 80's and 90's - so I guess there's some blessing in disguise

Assorted rude words. Anyhow - doing the exercises, taking the painkillers, who knows, might settle it down quickly...

I forgot to mention to radical NOT TO LEAVE BM. Stay with us, things will improve, they have to don't they eh? Crikey it's spooky how us lot seem to share the same ailments/problems, I've got Crohns disease so tiredness is with me most of the time, as is an aching back. Big hugs to you both

Good grief where do I start on this one. Been off work since Aug 29th last year when I had a breakdown. Got home to see Ma being carted off to hospital. Several months of depression, panic attacks and changing meds. Starting to slowly recover, bm been a big help with that getting my interest in things going again. Up and down all the time. Ma back in hospital again and she's now caught the norovirus in there. No visitors allowed on the ward. And to cap it all run out of sick pay and the Nash say only entitled to £71 a week
