Didn't see all this going on here, glad someone has pointed it out to me. And i don't have time to read the last 5 pages because I'm still dealing with the ongoing mess behind the scenes!
For the record I have never said it’s ok to copy PMs anywhere, be it Facebook or the Forums. What I have said though is that the CONTENT of the PM that someone posted (because they didn’t read/know/understand the rules) will dictate the punishment.
If you post a very private and intimate PM from someone onto your Facebook, maybe to embarrass them, you WILL be deleted from the site! If, however, you post in the forum saying “Oh i had a nice welcome message from Matt as follows which made me feel part of the club....” then you will just get a reminder to read the rules. I’m pretty sure that is simple enough to understand and acceptable to everyone.
For the record I will be very upset and annoyed if V or Jackie choose to leave the team for whatever reason. I have already said to them elsewhere that it would be catastrophic for the site and they are both pretty much indispensible. I think it’s a damn shame that one or two people have no respect at all and are ungrateful for all the hard work that they do. I would hope that both V and BJ understand I am deeply thankful for everything and I don’t know where I (or BM) would be without them.
matt these guys are price less they do thing for the club organise advertise and more un like others inc me who just go to the function or dont in some cases
Thanks Benny... I know for a fact they both know they're appreciated. Hell I even stood up in front of 400 people last September did a ridiculous karaoke and then presented them with some "Thank you" gifts and gave a little speech. They know for sure how much they mean to me and the club. Unfortunately some people aren't so honest about their feelings and will always try to rubbish the names of anyone doing something good. Some people need to say a big thank-you to these lasses as I have rather than criticise them
As you can see I am not from middle earth, more like 3ft under, but Middle earth has given a lot to me. The way things are going at present I don't see much future on the site without these guys.
So what is the answer?

If you are a new member or a potential new member. Don't be put off in any way by the discussions on these pages. It is important to realise that we support each other as members and give back up where back up is due. The majority will always try to right a wrong, if it is at all possible. For me, this is part of what BM has been about.
We have not finished yet, let's say it's work in progress.
OMG. what on earth is going on!!!!! Came on to check update for arran before we leave gretna and we both now feel blooming rubbish ... i can't imagine what's been said that would make as everyone else has said...the two corner stones of BM leave. pleaseeeee don't we all think the world of you guys and appreciate all the hard work you have done anwere in process of doing. this could be devastating for this site. big hugs xxxx

Sounds to me like they already made up their minds BBZ........and if its not then id say it amounts to some sort of blackmail.......still dont understand why this is being aired in a forum and agree with David to a point - what the hell does this look like to any new member???? what it looks like is various people are chucking the toys outta the pram (and i say that as someone who didnt see the original spat, rarely goes to events and doesnt know any of the people involved....and i dare say theres a lot more to it than that!) before anyone comes back at me......you post on a forum you invite comment!
Think its time to put the handbags away and sort it out like adults - probably face to face or on the phone instead of providing entertainment for the rest of us.
We both made an announcement on the forum to let you guys know we were off rather than just disappear. BM is a great site and as much as we REALLY appreciate the support and well wishes, please could everyone think what this looks like to anyone not aware of facts/goings on?

I do know many of these guys and am grateful for the hard work they put in. However, I believe Kwakgirl has hit the nail on the head. There are issues with freedom of speech on this site and have been over the 18months plus I have been on the site
, UR Welome Rally to name but one.
A lack of acceptance of the views of others and poor sensorship has alienated many so when Matt whinges about what he spends on advertising, the cheapest solution is retention and recoomendation. There is room for characters and dissentors on this site as long as views are respected. A tilt in the balance towards social rather than dating putting more of an emphasis on meetings and get togethers would be a start.
I hope this can be resolved by respectful discussion and agreeing to disagree, occasionally. This site still has so much potential.
This could all be over if the parties concerned would just say one word, and that word is "Sorry".
