BossMum ... been there and done that and having a daughter come through it in tact ... unlike my sanity at times ... tells me, stick to your guns and as I used to say to Rachel when she throw the whole ... my friends can do this and do that and wear this and say that ....
I simply kept replying ... yep, but they arent my kids

Hard going between 14 and 17 ... but hang in there, cos when they have a good foundation, they tend to always get back on the right track, eventually :)

Be strong and remember you're a good mum and doing what you do, cos you love her. She will understand, eventually.

V...been there X2, and they looked OK yesterday, didn't they ??!!

I agree that their peer group has a big influence but I also think that it's something that teenagers HAVE to go thro. Pushing the barriers is a way of testing that you care enough to push back !!
Stay strong , its the testing time where you have to have faith in all those good principles you instilled in them when they were little

I'm actually starting to feel sorry for XK...his attempt at the Brando look just went soooo wrong (and yes, Village People was the first thing that flew into my head, too)

BossMom, you have my sympathy. Just hang on in there, even though you may want to strangle her!

My no 1 son, now 21, was hardly any problem and has glided smoothly up the ladder with a good degree in his sights and an eye on a career as an actor. Not sure about its suitability as a parental pension plan, but there you go.

No 2 son, 18 next month, will drive me into an early grave...boundaries pushed, brushes with the law, wrong sort of friends, it just goes on an on. Wanna do a swap, V?

No 3 is my daughter, a bit quiet but she enjoys pillying and is growing in self-confidence all the time, not least because of the BikerMatch folk who treat her as a grown-up. I'm really grateful for that, and special thanks to all who've taken an interest in Jenny and encouraged her.

And Alice, your brood were a credit to you

Brando??!! feck me is that who he was meant to be? I don't often read this thread cos it makes me sad but I'd like to pass on a big to everyone who feels they need one, and hope everything works out how you want it to.

V their brains get re-wired at 14 then straightened out again at about 18 /19 I was only thinking last week, blimey it's been ages since we've had the police round.....was a regular occurance for several years They have to go through that horrible hateful phase....it's nature's way of making them sever the umbilical cord finally

Big thanks for all your comments, it's great knowing I only have to live on frayed nerves and vodka for a few years and it will all be over lol. On a separate note I think I have man flu. Been feeling worse and worse as the day's gone on and now as well as a feckin cold I've got the trots! Marvellous. Reckon I've caught something from one of you strange folk on Sunday
