I know exactly what you mean Ettenea, I had a friend I have known for 20 years suddenly become someone I realised I didn't know at all. Comes as a slap in the face when that happens.

Having a "teenage tantrum fight" with Minx on the way to school and she's only eight!! ~ First proper falling out where I told her rather tearfully that I didn't want to talk to her any more

Got the hug and the smiley "mamma!!" until she remembered.. then I got a lecture about how I can't stop her from growing up!! Who's the "mamma" here?! Me!! She's now tidying her toys away and is barred from you-tube until she's done it..

I'd love to tell you it gets easier Anne, but it doesn't, it gets much much worse. Just make the most of the special bond you two share and make sure you remind each other of it as often as you can xx

But good news is it only lasts for about 5 years, then the darling girl you once knew returns The other good news is I bet the ex's gf will be have an even harder time of it ....13 year old step-daughters (shudder shudder lol)
