I am sure there are enough to go round wend :-) for all that need one

Not happy today as the initial swelling has gone down and my plaster is loose and rubbing my toes ... don't go for my proper cast till Monday... Does anyone have any hints on how to use crutches and not have them bruise your arms ??

All I can suggest Shell is to put some foam or similar around the arm holes and to only use them when absolutely necessary. Crutches are horrible things and to use them without any bruising is near impossible.

How have you broken your foot? I hope it isn't a bad break?

Wearing a sports bra should minimise the risk of bruising to your knockers And Mr P wearing a straitjacket should also help minimise the risk as well!

Well, at least he had a good innings, then. (are funeral jokes allowed? please delete if considered in bad taste)

Just found out that my brother's MS is so advanced that he will never lead a proper life again.

He's 47 and only has a future in a wheelchair and with 24 hour assistance.

MS is a horribly debilitating disease and very frustrating for the sufferer - my old neighbour has had it from a much younger age but when your mind feels fit and your body just won't comply it's hard to stay calm about the whole thing. All you can do is be there for him Karen and lend an ear when necessary x

Thanks Boss Mom,

It can be difficult to understand what my brother is going through and the frustrations.

I will need to be ultra sympathtic when I'm around him.

Karen 3 members of my Mums family all suffer MS, my uncle was diagnosed 24 years ago and is just having to accept that he needs a wheelchair perm and 24 help and support.

Very frustrating for them and those around them, give him plenty of hugs when he needs them and poke him hard when he needs that and overall just be there :) dont be to symapthetic he still has a brain make sure he uses it lol

Hugs to you and him

@Shell, I’ve broke leg before but never experienced bruising with crutches…. it’s negotiating stairs are the problem!

All the best wishes on recovery x

Thank Geoff & Ron and to others who suggested sponge I now have a couple taped to the area hope it helps.

As for how that's the million dollar Q... I fell on a sunken pavement slope, to the left all bruising and grazes on left and managed to break a bone in my rightfoot ... It has been commented 'only you could manage that ' lol

Shell, are you sure your crutches are adjusted correctly? I was on crutches after a knee ligament injury a few years ago & didn't have that sort of discomfort with mine. But the nurse at the hospital went to quite a lot of trouble to find crutches suitable for someone of my height, and then adjusting them. I also became adept at going up and down stairs on my bum...no choice really when you're a single parent Good luck

Attending a funeral which turned into a scene from Shameless, i have never witnessed anything like it before, actual fist fighting, respect NONE

Ooo heck BJ. Clearly very heightened passions and feelings...makes people want to lash out, blame and incapable of seeing the wider picture & how they aren't the only ones hurting with the loss ...but it's self centred and as you say, shows no respect. It sounds very disturbing

Mini ... They claim they are, but my arms are saying otherwise, have a fracture clinic appointment for a full cast on Monday so will ask ...

Geoff ... Could be worth that much, well not a million but an amount as the path has been reported in the past and nothing done (apparently according to the woman at the council I reported it to)

Thankfully Ian is pulling a blinder driving me to & from work & doing stuff for me :-)

Seeing all the Bikermatch hi-viz vests hanging on the washing line instead of on people's backs walking around a very busy and excited field
