1. Riots and how badly peoples live are being affected - seeing a young girl scared in floods of tears with her mum having to leave her home on the news, how the police are having to restrain their powers after seeing their mates getting injured, hard earned businesses going up in smoke
2. news of it expecting to kick off round here tonight too
3. (selfishly!) Mortgage Advisor

Take care to everybody and your families - stay safe

Slidy I wish it was all talk on FB however the area I grew up in is affected & they started about 3pm

However I TOTALLY am with you on the comments of your next post, I raised my kids by myself, my ex had no contact with them & I never got a penny maintenance off him ( I am sure there are many nodding on here now who can relate), I worked damned hard, 2 jobs whilst qualifying at collage to become a counsellor, however my kids were raised to respect people & possessions, from an early age they were taught at home ... you wanted something you earned it, you did extra chores, saved your pocket money, cos you dont get a free ride through life no matter what !

I now have 2 young men who are horrified at what's going on & the excuses that people are coming out with for why they are doing what they are doing.

The rioting is now less than 10 miles from my kids & they have already been told if it spreads to come stay with us, as I said if anything happens to the house the insurance doesn't cover civil unrest or riot, rather they were here than there.

to everyone on here, stay safe, and I hope it is all over soon

I have just back in and even in my local area, everything (except for the outdoor, so I have cigs) is on lockdown. This is where I live, was born and bred, I bought my own home, pay all of my bills by myself, and never miss a payment on anything. Now I will suffer financially because I will be expected to contribute via my taxes to pay for this mindless damage and I am cross FFS

Just heard it's kicking off in centre of Manchester
coming home from work today walking through the town centre at 3 o'clock there were loads of police vans around but it was quite peaceful then.

It's just mindless violence and greed, no excuse whatsoever, nothing to do with race, religion, age or sex and all based on the fact that some gun toting drug dealing scumbag was shot by the police. If you carry a gun (apparently this was a modified replica so it can fire real bullets) then expect to take the consequences.

I work hard, pay my taxes, brought up 2 kids on my own and have done without as have my kids but we didnt go on a rampage to destroy property and loot.

There is NO excuse whatsoever for this kind of behaviour from anyone

Well, it has now spread from Wolverhampton city centre to a shopping centre about 5 minutes from my home!!

Probably aiming for the Argos there! This sort of targeted 'rioting' is just simply looting!!! There is just NO other explanation for going to this place other than that!!

Irrespective of the fact that we all know this is mindless crap, can I please ask that you make sure that vulnerable people you know of are safe. Thank you

Well said BL!!!

Riding through Handsworth this morning on way to work was like going through a war zone!

Burnt out cars, smashed and looted shops, etc. Very strange!

Going to be the same tomorrow it seems!!

Tripped up with armful of bottles & tins taking recycling out. All bruised down one side and it's so humiliating lying prone in a puddle soaking wet and covered in grit. At least none of the bottles broke when I landed on em

Being advised by the police that we had to close early as they were expecting trouble where I work

Never thought I would be as worried as I was during the 80's riots

Realising that I'd wasted far too much time making a decision that I should have made over a year ago.
