I used to post on a forum where 1 member was forever using really obscure acronyms that nobody understood... she'd spend so much time arguing the toss over how "stupid" everyone else was for not understanding what she was saying... Never quite understood why she didn't just type the expression out in full in the first place, if she was going to spend so much time justifying herself (yet NEVER explaining what her acronyms meant)?!
She started using "PKB" everywhere, which turned out to stand for "pot, kettle, black", but as her ID was "Pony", I hazarded a guess at "Pony Knows Best" - it fit quite well

thinking about the characters and the conversation in the chat room last night - some fun and wit in there and getting to know quite a few people who I am sure will become long term good friends.................nice!
Living up to the handle again, it's an acronym if it forms a word you can pronounce otherwise it's an abbreviation.
I can't help it I work in IT where TLAs (Three Letter Acronyms) are compulsory.
