Bought a 2nd hand zorst for my CB (beat up buit solid) for £60 squid got 3 discs thown in for good measure. Both front and 1 rear my left disc has never been quite right scince I was knocked off end of 07 (I rode home with bent forks) the left disc was cupped like a freakin frisbee I flattened it with a large rubber mallet and a solid axel stand for a container lifter (got it within 1mm of totally flat passed both last m.o.t's) but always was making a noise as the wheel rotated got annoyinggggggg lol. Anyhoo fitted both fronts today and cleaned up the pistons on both calipers no sound no dragging or juddering and feels like I've now got new brakes lol (closer inspection of LH disc showed up a 10mm crack form one of the drilled holes in it) sooo happy now have a better feeling bike and not a broken disc

Finding that putting my trust in a complete stranger was neither misguided nor misplaced. Long live honesty & integrity

Good for you Lou Keep the faith There are still some GOOD people out there and it made me smile to see your post. A stranger is only a friend you haven't met before Ask excalibur

I always keep the faith Em... Sometimes it backfires, but I don't let that put me off!

Excalibur's an absolute diamond - another one of the good'uns left in this world

nice to hear that wanna,s...i put faith in a couple of people who took me for money, thinking people would not do that and you get to thinking are there decent people out there, but reading your post there obviously is .

Yeah - sometimes you've got to suffer a lot of pricks to find the roses... but the roses are worth the trouble. *ahem*

You tend to remember the times you were taken for a ride much easier than the times when someone did something cool or unexpected and sometimes completely uncalled for... so it's good to give the positive experiences equal (if not greater) weight IMO

And somehow it seems to have a knock-on effect... for example... Despite the dire financial straits I find myself in and the lack of paid employment, I'm suddenly surrounded by people willing to give me a break and having some faith in me... waiving fees or minimum order quantities, giving me free publicity etc... total strangers, mind! I'd expect my friends/family to have my back in any case! Just a shame that my creditors aren't so willing to exercise a little patience and give a woman a break, but you can't have everything eh?! Hehehe!

indeed , wont go into detail, but i got took for 24k by ex g/friend, it was my savings etc after being payed out of my mortgage, but it does make you lose faith in people , and the barriers are well and truly up

Bring em crashing down Ian... I'm not saying in any way, shape or form that you should willingly hand over a large sum of money to the next woman in your life... but there won't be a next woman in your life unless you lower the barriers to let her in.

You can't "punish" the next person for something another person did to you in the past.

Well, you can... but it doesn't get you anywhere and they can't get close to you, so you end up having unfulfilling relationships.

I do understand that it's hard to trust again - I've been there more times than I care to remember... lost thousands of pounds... been bullied... been abused & all the rest of it... but it's the only way it'll work again for you - you have to open up & let them in and realise that they're a completely different person to the one(s) that stung you in the past

Aunty Lou out

Can I go back to soapboxing now please? I'm way better at it...
