You're drinking that there Um Bongo again aren't you? They don't *really* drink it in the Congo - you do know that, right? It's all a ruse to con you into drinking a load of e-numbers!
*nips back quickly to say what made me smile today*
Postie arriving with a boss present! BM peeps rock
And ALMOST making me happy - getting invited out for a ride, but I may be too late in seeing the PM - dammit! But hey - there's still this evening to look forward to - cheers Nodrog!
A girl could get used to this unemployment lark... Hmmmm... perhaps I'll buy a lottery ticket while I'm in town, wearing sackcloth n ashes, beating myself and begging forgiveness from the bank and the loan company?
Going out on the bike today made me smile lots & lots.... I have Been to the sea side,,,, in North Wales,,,, and the sun was out,,, and going out again tomorrow to play on my bike ... I like this having a few days off work;
Dropping my bike off at dealers this morning for fork seals and borrowing a new Sprint ST for the 5 mile (actually 75 miles with detour!!) ride to the office, sneaking out at 3 and on finding my bike wasn't ready for collection borrowing a Street Triple R to play out on.
The Street Triple R should be banned as the minute you set off on one all rational thought stops and whoo hoo! feckwit mode engages. They just force you to hurtle everywhere like a total loon, it's like riding a jet propelled trailie, incredibly flickable, superb suspension and brakes and the 675 engine is amazing above 9000. It is impossible not to overtake everything in sight and then smoke the front tyre and throw it into bends way too fast with pegs grinding. Riding mode is see a gap-go-giggle-go faster-giggle more-go even faster-scrub 50 mph off-hit 60 mph bend at 80-push it down more-grind pegs-pick it up-nail-it-smoke tyre again for next bend-overtake everything in sight-look for more things to overtake-realise that 120 on a country lane is crazy-giggle insanely cos you dont care.
I wouldn't dare buy one as it would be a toss up whether I killed myself or lost my licence first. You might not want to tour on one but for play time it is an awesome tool.
That is BY FAR the BEST review of the Speed Triple I have ever read! I fancied it before... now I LOVE it!
Tonight made me smile - good company, including a surprise visit from TJ with his oh so gawjuss ZZR 1400 and another blat (cue: Wannabe sitting on the back, squealing and giggling insanely)
Lovely pub Nodrog - thanks for taking us there - thanks for a lovely dinner at the Oakdene first and thanks for my pudding, which I discovered again in my pocket on my drive home and happily munched!
Definitely need to sort a BM SE meet for there - it's a nice ride from the Oakdene and a lovely setting for a pub, including friendly staff, coffees til closing AND hippy herbal tea - woohoo!
*note to self: do NOT forget riding crop next time*
As a track tool the Daytona 675 has got to be a better bike, as a B road blaster the Street Triple R is definitely the thing to play out on. I must admit that while I'm not a sport bike fan I quite fancy a go on a Daytona, someone described it to me as "like an Aprilia RS250 on steroids"
Look Wills, just cos I've got a horned hoody, it doesn't make me Satan, right? Otherwise though, I'd love to get behind you for a blat around the track!
Ricdude permits me my moments of eccentricity - I'm allowed the hippy herbal stuff, so long as I don't go around hugging trees indiscriminately. It's a compromise that we find works well.
I'm liking the Daytona description Prof - I reckon we should make you the official site bike reviewer. Even as a self-confessed non sport bike fan, you're selling them pretty well! Objectivity's where it's at.
well i think Ricdude is a mean man,you should hug a tree whenever you want....i do.
Tree Huggers of the world unite
P.S only kiddling Ricdude bud,i have it on very good authority your luverley
I hear there's a very good witness protection programme available: "The Underground Tree-Huggers"... I guess they hug roots? I'm not sure how it works, but I'd go for it if I were you.
They'll give you a new identity, all the usual stuff, plus as much herbal tea as you can carry in your tie-dyed bedroll. Either that or you hide out with Swampy who's now Mr Suburbia and drives his sprogs to school half a mile down the road in a 4x4
Disclaimer: This post may or may not be a work of fiction.
Oh no,Swampy sold out!!!!! he was so my hero, rip Swampy
Tried that protection programme thingy once, didna think much of it,evreybody kept calling me Petunia AND they didna even tie-dye my bedroll, never knew they were supposed to do that. The boogers never tell you your full entitlements do they
Bolting on a new front end on my likkle convertible, and fixing the wiper linkage......and fitting a new cat...and...erm....errr...oh yeah, fitting a new radiator too......busy day with the spanners
