watching little kiddies in Haiti all battered and bruised made me feel sad....today and still can't believe there is hardly any rescue in place yet, 5 days in people won't survive much longer without water....saddens me .... we don't know how lucky we are sometimes...
It both makes me sad and sick to the stomach..........the second break in at the charity I work for in two weeks. Not only is it based in a church and they kicked in doors and stole laptops and IT equipment last time and cheekily came back for more.............they did it again today!!! This time, they arrived at 7.40am when staff were opening up the fitness centre and threatened two of them with crowbars.............luckily no one got hurt as they wisely didnt challenge them but they crowbarred doors to the kids recording studio to steal expensive recording equipment that we had bought with funding for the kids to learn mixing in the Digital Media Studio (deprived/abused kids from inner city areas!) Now, the charity is having to have wrought iron gates secured so that staff can lock themselves in to try and keep themselves safe as well as the equipment!!! To think I was only a few yards away working in the adjoining house and could so easily have walked into them or worse still let them in not expecting any trouble at that time of day when everyone is coming into work!!!! OMG what is the world coming to and what kind of ppl are living in it........................it beggars belief dont it!!???
I can't believe your post Sandy, makes me feel sick to the pit of my stomach that these vermin did what they did, twice. They have no empathy for the kids who love going to use the facilities that have been provided, no thoughts for the staff or how they may feel after, maybe in shock , scared, not sleeping, and no appreciation for the months of work and hours of cold calling that go into getting grants and funding for such equipment, that are sometimes turned down in the end. Now you're going to have to start to look for funding again to replace whats been taken, as well as using acquired funds to pay for iron gates on top of it - I hope they rot in Hell
there comes a time when you think does anyone really give a hoots? and you realise they dont so you give the off sign and get on with it.....................
All of these things that are happening, most of us do care, as we are the ordinary everyday people who work away and generally are honest and hard working silent majority who ' really do care' and are sickened by the the things that happen to others like us.....but a lot of us are so afraid to do anything about it as we will get the punishment from the law or the criminals/ thugs involved get of with a slap on the wrist and make life a misery
