. . .my 4-wheel Harley (OK clapped out Corsa!) has died. Sounds like something expensive . . poss timing belt. Need car for all the half-term taxi-ing promised to daugters and mum so looks like hiring a car on top of all that. Body too old to sell. . any suggestions for extra cash!!!
For me, it's just finding out that me grandad has had a broken leg for two weeks while he has been in a 'care home'. He told us he had fallen a fortnight ago, but the staff said he had dreamt it, the staff have just been covering up for each other, because he's in his mid nineties and incapable of getting out of his chair un-aided never mind getting up off the floor.
...and they call it a "care" home wtf??!!!......Ive worked in a few in my time and not all bad but many leave alot to be desired too............this is disgusting tho and so distressing for all the family too, so sorry to hear this Paj.................hope you all come through this with no thanks to them x
That's terrible Paj, I hope he gets sorted and there isn't any permanent damage to his leg.
I used to work weekend mornings as a cleaner in a nursing home and was asked by the Matron (that was her title) to come in in the evening to clean the dining room carpet.
When I got to the home one of the residents was laying on the floor in reception and others were standing around her. I asked if they'd used the emergency buzzer for the care staff, they said they had, I rang it again and still no response so I went to the sitting room and found all members of staff in there chatting and smoking. Their faces were a picture when I showed up and demanded to know why they hadn't answered the buzzer.
The staff were making so much noise they hadn't heard the buzzer.
and that is one reason why I will never go into a nursing home!!
