Thanks Willow for posting meet.......
Got back safe about 1840hrs, now thawed out enough to post......
first time at Rivi and it was great to meet up with old friends and make new ones...............
305 miles in total, the ride down was terrible, wet and cold and the ride back even worse!!!!!!!!wetter, colder,,,and even started to snow on A66, , but for some unknown madness I would do it all again regardless.....
Cant see a bloody thing in dark , couldn't use specs as they are Bi-focals and arms to big for lid, so just got behind fast car and followed tail lights, a few dodgy moments but got back ok....A trip to specsavers nxt week with lid for new specs for riding I thinks!!!!
If I dont meet anyone before then I'll see whoever at the lakes camping.......................great day,,,,thanks all,,,,,,,,,,craig
well i made it,eventually, dont the locals know where the rivvi is?2 hrs it took from liverpool with directions from the locals,D***heads no signs at all until i got outside the place then when i found the bikes i didnot recognise anybody there, had a cup of coffee,by that time i was wet and cold and hungry and the butty van was closing,so i came home, alot quicker as well, now i know the route, anyway when the better weather comes it will be nice to go back to,edd.
LOL Foxy, I think that Rivi doubles as a nuclear base, so secret they don't put directional signs up, or it's a clever ploy to get us to stay longer in the place so we'll spend more, it's been like that for years...no signs.
waf,,,it was my first time at rivvi,,,and directions are crap, no,,,,non existant, but we were no where near a butty van
(at least i dont think we were)
craig.
thanks to everyone who made it to rivi...and sorry for those who were too busy hovering!!! lol xxxx.............glad you had such a fab ride home CW !! you must be mad......................it is great to meet new friends and am looking forward to the next time. see you at the camping thingy that rossi46 organised..................hugs xxx
"you must be mad"
this is one of the MAIN requirements for BM (as you will find out)
mad we may all be but you will not find a friendlier bunch of nuts anywhere.....

Fox, the quickest way from Liverpool is a dog-leg motorway trip along the M62/M60/M61, usually takes me about 50 minutes from south Liverpool. If you try going a direct route you'll end up zig-zagging all over the place in south Lancs. One BM member from Liverpool eventually gave up in frustration a couple of years ago and went back home again. It's one of those places that's dead easy to find once you've done it, but I've heard of loads of newbies who've had a frustrating time getting there. As with all BM meets, if you don't already know people face to face it's always a good idea to get a mobile number just in case you end up looking at a sea of faces wondering if you know anyone, and worrying about saying hello to the wrong person.
took me about 55 mins to get home & then was straight out out to the pub to meet some other mates...............just got back in hic..................but have had a great day out & really good to meet some old & new faces
o'd only met rossi46 before and walked straigh past everyone at the main door into the barn ! you def need to swap mobile nos, sorry you didnt find us waf !!! everyone was friendly and i am looking forward to getting to a few rallies and stuff this year(finances allowing). now, i just need to get back on two wheels...............see ya all soon xxxxxxxxxxx
wn it is that,we had a good afternoon at the top barn, then a few of us went for dinner, you missed a lovely wet cold meet, hahaha
but,one never knows you may just make the next one!
finding rivington is relatively easy :-
Head for Howich past the fire station.over the bridge through the traffic lights continue along to the Holt's pub crown public house, after the pub continue 50 yards you will see 2 extremely large stone pillars turn right through the pillars, follow that road for approximately 1 mile, bottom barn on your left, bikers tend to meet here during the week,in the evenings from 6pm onwards.on Sundays turn right at the bottom barn, and follow road until you reach the top barn, be warned, sunday is a very busy biking day out,
I did notice when I was up there on my bike Sunday morning, the roads have taken a hell of a punishment due to the heavy snow fall, take extra care if riding your bike, pot holes are every where now!
and plenty of loose stone about........
yes, we were at sunny notlob on sunday!! was great to meet new friends.............might just have to do it again!! i may even have my bike fixed by then!! lol............everyone is welcome (no excuses this time! no hoverung/housework excuses allowed)
see ya all soon
