The thought that a good friendship could come to what it has, it was going to happen that I or they would move on at some point in our lives for what ever reason and when no lies are told or you haven't led anyone on along the way why can't friends be happy for you.
Rose don’t you have one x

Hearing that my Godfather has cancer... they've removed his gall bladder, a kidney and a load of lymph nodes, so the prognosis isn't great... once it's in the lymphatic system... Ho hum.
We kind of said our goodbyes last time I was in the States, as he's a realist and figured it'd probably be the last we'd see of each other...
He's frankly amazed that he survived the operation (he's over 80!) and currently has the nurses in stitches, relating his infamous daft stories, so at least he's in high spirits.
Thanks both - he's always lived life to the full & I'm sure he'll continue to do so as much as possible... & knowing him, he'll be more concerned for his wife's welfare than for his own.
A real gent and a lifelong Anglophile, although absolutely the spitting image of a stereotypical larger than life American, complete with baseball cap and a big fat old cigar on the go
They've only just told us after he's had months of illness, as they didn't want to bother us, what with Dad's ongoing problems *sighs* Bless them for being considerate, but really! They've been friends with my folks for 42 years, so no need to stand on ceremony.
so sorry Lou to read about your Godfather I'm glad he is in high spirits tho and sharing his stories, sounds a great character ! Almost like he is saying, you can reduse me to this, but you will never take my spirit and sense of fun away - cancer !!
Thinking about someone really special who is in a lot of pain and just gets on with it, he always puts everyone else first and himself last, sending a really big cuddle to the big guy xxxxxxxx
