Well said oggy! I was annoyed because work had not arranged anything for the 1 mins silence... so I rang the Estates dept and lo and behold, we got an email sayin the fire alarm will sound at the beginning and the end.. only the planks sounded it TWO mins before 11am.. and then at 11am.. the secondary alarm kicked in..giving out short sharp piercing screeches!! But I still had my minutes thoughts to myself....I'm so immensely proud of our service personnel, past and present and everyone else connected with them. I havent seen any news yet, today, but there's been some really good programmes on this week. Did anyone see that Timewatch special last night about the underground bunkers in 1917.... was chilling.

I've just watched that on the evening news......tears rolling down my cheeks too... It beggers belief what those old boys must have witnessed... It makes me feel incredibly humble. Oggy.. did u manage to catch that program? I missed the ending..will it be shown again?

Watching "The Curse of the Golden Flower" (again!)

Love that film... cinematography, music, costumes, sets, colours... utterly fabulous... and bloody in parts too! ;o)
