OK... so in today's climate, yer man who kicked off a bomb scare on a plane earlier this year and has now been jailed for doing so, was a complete plank for behaving the way he did... but this bit didn't half make me chuckle:
He was charged with assaulting the aircraft and passengers, as well as drunkenness.
Winterbottom pleaded not guilty to attacking a civilian airliner, but admitted that he had been drinking.
I'm now slightly concerned about this, however.
Is there a statute of limitations on such criminal behaviour? Can you be charged with attacking any inanimate object? Or does it just apply to civilian aircraft?
Should I turn myself in for pulling a bit of a John Cleese on my old Morris Minor one night, some 22 years ago and beating her up with a branch for failing to start?
