Nothing 'on' it today, but I swapped over my small top box for Danny's larger one and dug out the panniers to fit back on in the morning coz I'm off to the Mach2 rally in Wales
Just back from a bit of a marathon to Stroud bike meet. Absolutely heaving. What an awesome day...stunning scenery in the sun...and a clear night full of stars on the way home. Marvellous
Went off to the most local Weds. bikenite to me in Stroud, got there early, was already loads of people there, managed to sell a bike to an old mate too(pictures on profile pics)
Thursday Evening had a tinker with rear brake conversion on Tiger900,all lines up and bolts together okay, just got to decide wether to scratch build a new brake torque arm,or 'modify' old one,decisions,decisions...
Wednesday night,so off out in aid of Air Ambulance fundraising...Tonight was the Fleece Inn at Bretforton,Near Evesham..Great old country pub, stacks of parking in orchard behind, and every nook and cranny around the narrow streets, took lots of pictures, posted up on profile pics....only downside for me was a polis speed trap and roadblock on the Cheltenham road on the way back, luckily i was going other way off roundabout
Such a nice warm evening,i put the first gloss black coat on Rudolph's nosecone fairing,a short wait then coat number two...into the conservatory to harden off in a warm dry place overnight..hope it comes out okay..
Next few coats of black gloss onto nose cone, then off out to look for photo opportunities on the Speed Triple, for Izzyhill's picture challenge, went over to Nailsworth,up onto top then Minchinhampton,Tetbury,Malmesbury, and back via a cloudburst and Horsley and Frocester Hill to home, just the last 2 miles really wet...
A damp and dreary Wednesday bikenight, but at one of my favourite venues, the Fox Inn at Broadwell, just outside Stow On The Wold.A good excuse for a midweek blast up the Fosse Way in the drizzle...amazing how few show up when the forecast is damp....Rudolph behaved himself impeccably, looking forward to coming to France with me i suspect..
Round trip of around 210 miles, taking in a rough clockwise radius from MK through the cotswolds to mid Wiltshire via Burford, Marlborough, Avebury, Swindon and Cirencester...northwest up the Fosse to the Gloucs bike meet at Broadwell, Stow on The Wold. Then after a natter, an amazing cheese topped cottage pie and cuppa...back east through Chipping Norton to MK.
The kitchen is now a drip dry area for kit, and it's been a marvellous day out
A trip over the Severn Bridge for me today, visiting friends in Chepstow,a ride out to the Steel Horse Cafe near Abergavenny (VERY yummy cakes here),via Usk,then across to Abergavenny centre for a cuppa and look at the myriad bikes there,on out from there to Skenfrith Castle and a wander round the ruins there(Cromwell took it out on this one,for sure,lol)...off again up the Wye Valley, past gorgeous Tintern Abbey bathed in sunlight,a true jaw dropper..back to Chepstow for a pint at the Three Tuns, live muzak provided by singer and karoake machine(usually something better on there),then a galumph back via the A48,mostly deserted fast A roads and home..120 miles, but some cracking scenery, posted some pics up too- see Welsh Sunday Run..
Not today and not on my own machine... Electrical fault finding on a friends bike... couldn't work out at first why battery charger wouldn't charge or show battery voltage?? .
After making a new wiring loom from the charger to the battery and checking all connections, still couldn't work problem out .
Anyway to cut a long story short, after two hours it turned out to be a simple inline fuse holder with a duff fuse that was up hidden in the bike frame that was the problem all the time! - I HATE ELECTRICS !
A HUGE trip tonight,8 miles total, there and back, but a packed out debut Bikenite for the Fromebridge Mill,a sea of bikes, hundreds to look at,Nickscafe managed to find me,even without the Fedora !,bar staff did very well to cope with never ending queue, they even did a Bikenite Meal Deal Special at good price, which many took advantage of.I think they'll be keen to have us back next time...:)>
