No need to be sad Rose ... Rasta came back
Cassie said it looked like it had been trapped some place & not able to get out for few days, but strolled in like 'ok whats all the fuss about' typical cat
Dropped the CBR (again) today.
Totally my fault for a couple of reasons. I allowed myself to lose my rag with the van that kept cutting up my inside, (I'd been filtering so was right out on the white line) so I got sick of him and shot past him and the next couple of cars when nothing was coming but unfortunately for me, had to come to an unexpected halt when Geoff announced we were turning left coupled with the next car in front stopping suddenly.
I fluffed my stop and ended up in neutal, on a hill with a bad camber and over balanced to the right and fell off - straight into the path of an on-coming car - thankfully he stopped in time and didn't run me over!
Hurt my leg slightly but think it's only a bruise and totally busted my indicator now but electrical tape works wonders.
Geoff thought it was funny that one second he's hearing me cursing the van man and the next he said it was like something from a disaster movie as I shout "we're going down!" Well *we* were! Then he panicked as he looked in his mirror and all he could see was my front wheel on its side.
So...lesson learned...don't lose your rag coz you make errors and making them in front of the **** you just *blew off* isn't good for the ego.
It affected my riding for the rest of the day which resulted in me being very tense and in a lot of pain by the time we'd finished our day out.
I guess I'm smiling too as it could have been a lot worse.
It's a good lesson to learn Roachy... Shame to have to learn it the hard way, but at least it wasn't too hard a way?
Anyone in control of any vehicle, no matter how many wheels it's got, should try to learn not to lose their rag. It affects the way you ride/drive and leads to you making errors.
Have you ever tried learning relaxation techniques? Well worth a shot... I haven't practiced it for years, but I had a grounding technique I used to use to calm me down if I was getting wound up at work... Very effective You can't be effective (or safe) working the door of a South London club if you've lost your temper, so it used to be put into practice quite frequently!
Might be just the ticket. At least you can proceed to enjoy the rest of the day's riding and hopefully not finish the day in so much pain
Hey Rachel, sorry to hear about your off. Glad you're ok tho.
Hopefully its your pride more than anything else thats battered.. and pride can be built up agen.
Geoff.. next time, give your instructions in good time... dohhhhh
Hope your both enjoying yr holiday, despite that.
I accept my blame with good grace!
All I heard through my headset was "This van driver is winding me up!"
Then it was like some scene in a Battle of Britain film as I heard "We're going down, we're going down!!" Shortly followed by "It's that van drivers fault."
The episode wasn't helped by me getting all aggressive with some poor innocent (and as it happened very helpful) fella because he was driving a people carrier/mini van type thing and I got my knickers crossed!! I apologised though.
Got a bottle of champagne here and no one to share it with! DOH!!!
Some bar steward has reported me for something I've not done...wish I had...then I would be being punished for something wrong...what's wrong with the world today?
