Put engine back in hubbies custom, connected gearbox. Just have to save some pennies and then bits off to painters. Need to take tank off my bigger now, get new tank fitted, then my stuff can go to painters too
A spur of the moment decision this afternoon for a bracing blast over the peninnes to drop a birthday prezzie. A nice warming cuppa, a quick chat and a giggle before hitting the road home again.
Back by dusk, feeling a lot better than I have for the last couple of days. It is true, 'bikes blow away the cobwebs, and are good for the soul.
Finally found source of speed problems with Rudolph...tab drive washer and hub drive unitboth O.D'd...found the dearer bit at half price new on Ebay...order washer from local triumph place next week..problem solved Next job is sensible update for clutch lever assy ,dogleg/span adjustable type going on from later speed Triple Model...another Ebay cheapy ...:)
Faffed around for ages, fitting and refitting clutch lever assembly from later Speed Triple to Rudolph, then took even longer re-routing clutch cable(still not happy now)...got too cold so abandon till later in the week..:)>
Working today, but last part for Rudolph turned up today,so will be down the garage asap to get him fettled and then sort out gummed up carbs on Tiger, run up all bikes to stop batteries getting lazyass...already fitted later clutch lever assy on Speed Triple,so now got adjustable levers both sides...big improvement for my duff left wrist and fingers..:)>
Froze me nuts off making an emergency delivery of 40 cans of cat & dog food to an animal sanctuary about 25 miles away. Not some thing I want to do every day, 40 full cans squeezed into a rucksack on my back make for some 'interesting ' handling characteristics
A rideout with Stuie and a couple of BMers (8 bikes). It was a nice ride with mates and new acquaintances. Beautiful blue skies n sunshine for the main part. A nice day on the bike, good for soul! Looking forward to the next outing.
Started putting my nice new shiny stainless steel casing bolts on Rudolph...and tomorrow night will be oil and filter change day, just ready for the snow...lol
Well, got as far as unloading my latest bike off the delivery van but I reckon I'll leave taxing her until Feb 1st and hope there's a tad less salt on the roads by then.
Renewed the insurance so that's sorted for another year My shunt in the car just before Christmas has loaded another fiver on to the cost of the bike policy. Could've been worse, I suppose.
Little run along coast up past Glasson Docks[no one there] up through Lancaster then back through Dolphinholme n Abbeystead then round via St Michaels then home 75 miles nice run but got misty on way back. Good to get out and about
