What's made me smile tonight?

This place :o)

I've spent the day fretting about horrible medical stuff and the evening in fits of giggles. Laughter IS the best medicine!

Cheers (((((chaps and chapesses))))) :o)

Finishing a job by lunchtime, getting home bathed in glorious sunshine:o) Feeling the first pangs of excitement and anticipation building up in the gut, as leathers, lid etc are assembled, engine ticking over nicely. Price of a coffee in pocket, mentally plotting the best route to take to the pre-arranged meeting place with riding buddies, grinning with glee at the wicked blat to follow. Times like these when it truly feels good to be alive Arfur

I fixed a fuel tap leak with some sticky backed plastic, an empty fairy liquid bottle, hairy string and the timing fuse from a TLAM cruise missile I happened to have in the shed. OK thats a lie...it was an O ring but the above sounded WAY better!

Wills just google searched Leonard Cohen, got some good vids on Youtube, just listening to Who by Fire really like it, now jealous I am not going with you, this site really has educated me in music, Thanks to blues and Di I heard about Jo bonamasa and really loved going to see him live, I grew up in a musical family, Dad a drummer, brother an all round musician and a daughter who is a professional musician so how I missed out on some of these I will never now. Im not hijacking the thread as all this makes me smile realising what I have been missing.

I blame John Peel. He led my musical tastes for years on his shows, and I'm only sorry I never had a chance for a decent natter with him as he was a good friend of a good friend, but somehow our paths never crossed properly. I haven't seen Leonard Cohen live since the 70s, but he came across as far witter and mischievous in the flesh than his reputation allows. A friend who went to Glastonbury this year reckoned it was worth the money alone just to hear him - plenty of amateur clips on Youtube as you say.

Leonard Cohen?? God what a talent (erm not!!! talk about mono-tonal droning) like listening to finger nails down a black board........ Nearly as good as Leonard Nimmoy It's Illogical, or the Ballard of Billbo baggins lol MMM bit of a theme there both Leonards??? And as to a Jazz hook at the front of Who By Fire, (Jazz not my taste at all) He turns around and even looks depressed before opening his mouth..............
