Tell me about it HG am well gutted also Just keep making same mistake and no idea why im doing it Im off out with the instructors wife tomorrow morning she is gonna run it by me Had a cup of tea and a chat with her today after my lesson So felt a bit better after that I will get there eventually
Awwwww how sweet lol You can send it when i pass havent gave up yet had a right strong wind against me as well today so i thought i did pretty ok its amazing i didnt get blown off Soon be buzzing around on my own you'll see
Sweet - you'll be fine... Just relax... Don't be annoyed with yourself or feel gutted... We tend to get out on that road and suddenly the nerves hit - we start thinking "Oh no... I'm going to make a mistake" and lo & behold, we do!
It'll all suddenly fall into place for you. Don't get hung up on it being "the same mistake" you're making, just think of it as a skill you ARE mastering. Present tense, not future
Cheers for that Wannabe will keep that in mind next time im approaching that mini roundabout Think it was more nerves than anything its only the second time i have ever been out on the road on a bike on my own Thought it would have been pretty quiet for a Sunday but it was quite busy and it dosnt help when idiots in cars are overtaking you especially in a 20mph hour zone happened a couple of times Probably showing off cos i had a learner sticker on? Anyway will keep ya posted how i get on
Yeah - plus there were a lot of eejits out on the roads today... Mothers Day! I had a driver in front of me who suddenly decided he wanted to turn right on a 2-lane roundabout, while hugging the left hand side of the left hand lane... as I was just about to pass him on the right hand lane to go straight over the roundabout onto a dual carriageway...
*is grateful for observation & good brakes! *
It really is just a question of confidence and you will get there Sweet You already know you can do it, it's just putting it into practice out there on the real life road
Its just practice Sweet, you just have to spend enough time riding so that the bike control is automatic leaving you free to concentrate on where you are going rather than the mechanics of it all.
Eventually you get to the point where the reflexes are programmed and you will find yourself dropping a gear, covering the clutch and brake and taking evasive action before you have consciously noticed the car trying to occupy the space you are in.
Just take it steady, try not to get flustered and relax.

Amen to that! My first attempt at the CBT just left me feeling that I had way too many hands and feet, all trying to do stuff they weren't used to doing, and that if I went out on the road, I'd just be a liability to myself and everyone else... I couldn't go out there, gazing down at the end of each limb to make sure it was in the right place at the right time!
It's been that long since I did the CBT, with no practice since, that I'm sure I'll be starting all over again once I finally sort my life out and get hold of a 125. Hey ho. But now I know I can do it, so it won't be so tricky
soggy phone, as if i dont have enough traumas in my life!!!!!!!!
on the upside, nobody has felt the need to post on here for a good few days so thats almost made me smile, im not a miserable old bugger really

my mum had a massive angina attack last night gutted it doesnt rain it pours on the upside this might finally make her quit smoking when she comes out of hospital
Seeing the GPZ go I had some great times on her though, shared by some great people. On the upside, the new owner is a smashing old boy so at least I know it will be cared for.
