I've had a few starting issues with the bike, my mechanic suggested I check the starter motor wasn't getting stiff and placing too big a load on the battery, so after a good run on the bike this morning I gave it time to cool down then set about it and got the lower fairings and belly pan off, a few more odds and sods removed/slackened and I finally got the starter off.
It was in good nick, turning easily by hand, so cleaned it up and it's earth points, greased and back on.
Looks like new battery needed, just a shame it's a bloody expensive battery!
Did a 100 mile round trip for a very nice all day breakfast. It was a bit chilly but a good ride. Have decided I need to fit some handguards and adjust my screen as it fires the wind into my chest, my only concern is if I raise it I may get my helmet buffeted.
Couldn't resist today.....Bassetts foR a choccie, then M42 to Ashby, A511 to Burton, A38 BACK TO Lichfield, coffee and a cake at Shenstone garden centre.
Did it wake you up Jude lol I would put that down to road salt getting on the pistons and gumming them up good clean and a smear of brake grease and be good as new
