It is good to see these old bikes competing and the realism of bits falling off, because that is what happened and was all part of the experience. Appart from one rider, overyone rode in the old style (no knee down). Also brilliant watching the old chair riders. The outfits were narrower back then and I think the passenger and rider had to work harder. I have seen this before and am sure to watch it many more times :-)
I've been left with a tickly cough after a spring cold, nothing more and definitely not chesty or serious and getting better now anyway.
My son said this evening that as I'd had it a while and it wasn't shifting I should get checked out. I asked if he'd been watching the telly adverts about persistent coughs and lung cancer, he said no, he doesn't watch TV - which he totally doesn't.
Hearing a questioning "Izzy?" at the Rumbling Tum in Moffat and looking up to meet Crimmy who I've not met before. Lovely surprise to meet you and Zook by chance like that.
We bottled going on to St Mary's Loch in the hail and just headed home (back to afternoon sunshine - go figure!), hope you got home safe and warm and dry.
Seems I'm easily recognised from my profile pics afterall!
Sitting in the Rumbling Tum in Moffat having lunch with Zook and noticing a lass walking past our table .. Thought to myself "i know her face" Me being me , i got up and went over to her table ... "Izzy" i said , looking at her . With a puzzled look she said yes .. It's Crimmy i said with a big grin .. hellos and hugs were all round Good to meet ye at last lass .
Zook got me home safe and sound ... see happy thread
Zook made me smile today Spent a gorgeous day out on his bike , riding the twisties and enjoying the scenery of the Borders . Had a lovely lunch and his company was fabby A big thankyou and a bigger hug , until next time
Aye, a good day all round apart from some running repairs before heading down 'The Devils Beeftub' to Moffat. We made (ahem!) good progress which helped reduce the chicken strips on a new rear tyre and hats off to Crimmy, she's a great pillion. Apart from a few snow and sleet showers on the way home, it was a fantastic run and with the addition of such good company, a near perfect day. We must do it again sometime............soon x
@ Zook, Let us know when you do it again and we'll meet up for lunch?
Danny said to say 'hi' to you both from him but you'd already gone. Mind, his one-step-forward-two-steps-back approach to bike repairs might mean it won't be for a wee while. *sigh*
*ducks and runs for cover; oh, better idea - bribe him with bagels and empire biscuits*
The thought of hooking up with so many friends made off BM tomorrow to say goodbye to Iain (Sharky). Just proves what a popular, well thought of gentleman he was. Ride free fella xx
