A friend first, a partner optimistically

I'm so, so happy with life ! I'm positive, confident and out going - what more could a man want?

I'm a 47 year-old nurse who has just resumed NHS nursing after a break of five years working with an agency and in nursing homes. I currently live and work in Truro and have lived in Cornwall my entire life. I live with my two grown-up and mostly independent children (and our dog) next to a river. I've been divorced three years and consider myself very fortunate and very happy!!

Hobbies (if you're still reading!) Sci-fi (I'm a complete nerd!!) Rock music and gigs (rock chick too!), photography (semi-pro), writing (written three rubbish books!), walking , my kids and dog!

In the past I have been a runner (London marathon 1990), a strong swimmer (copiuos childhood badges to prove it!), lifeguard (well, got my Pool Bronze), I've parachuted, backpacked around Australia and used to play badminton. Had my own business at the age of 19 (was useless at it though!) Got full car and motorcycle licenses and love motorbikes, love the original mini and have had three over the years.

I have been so lucky to have the love of my children and the friendship of a huge and diverse social group. But now I'm ready to settle down with someone special

Just for a 'for your attention' sort of thing, I should mention I have in the past suffered from gender dysphoria which has been resolved by having gender reassignment treatment. I'm fully through the process and it's in the past now but it should be noted that I'm only interested in hearing from open minded people willing to understand or at least open their minds to this concept. For those in the ignorant spectrum if you show no respect you'll never know. . . . . . . .
