Can anyone throw any light on why a friends YB125 a couple of years old will not start if left in direct sunlight for a few hours, its ok in the shade or if raining.

Possibly one of the sensors getting hot Steve. Gut feeling is cylinder head temp sensor giving incorrect reading & going into safety mode !! Needs to be plugged in really to read live data when playing up.

Spoke to me mate and he's since found its a common fault, others have tried chucking a bucket of water over head sensor. Next question is can sensor be circumnavigated or changed to a less sensitive higher value one.
