For those of you i've talked to you'll know I haven't been around for very long but I joined this site to meet likeminded people, hoping to meet someone 'special' but not realising that it would also bring with it some very genuine company. I've shouted my mouth off through the forums about us newbies being just as genuine and fighting for the motorcycle 'cause' as the people that have been riding for 30 years. This BM or FRIENDLY rally is being organised behind the scenes for our entertainment and I don't know about you but I'm looking forward to this like it's a 2 week holiday in the bahamas! I think it's time some of us got a bit more involved to help the organisers make sure everything works out so if anyone feels they'd like to step forward to discuss fundraising ideas, now is the time to do it. If this weekend feels like the Bahamas for you, shout it out! Some of you might be able to place a poster at your work or get your company to donate something, you might have something to be sponsored for, any ideas chuck em in and see what happens to em
Cool RK...
I am more than happy to stick a link on a couple of websites, the Club one has an events page, so if someone wants to say yay or nay to that, then let me know. The band has a site too, which is linked from all over the place... that's about all i can offer in terms of 'help' as I am kinda crazily (or just crazy) busy with the Club abd rallies meself.
Have to agree with you about being pleasantly surprised at making some genuine friends on here already.

Nice one cissy, i'm sure one of the friendlies will be in touch about the links. I was beginning to think the newbie corner had gone all quiet for a mo
hey there - I don't think you need special permission to post a link off the site - just cut & paste. We did used to have a 'share' button at the bottom of every page that you could click on to add the Bm link to where ever you wanted to - but it started playing up & I think Matt has removed it now.
Thanks, but the way things are going at the moment, I think I had better wait until Matt or a Moderator says it is ok to have a link to the event on an MCC website.
Cheers

Hi All
I echo what RN says, Im a sort of newbie, in from the birth of BM then had a break and now back with another name and profile but would happily help in whatever way possible! I also work for a well known national charity (local branch tho!) as their funding manager so this is my field so to speak so here if you need me! I also cant wait, only committed to one rally this year and weather (and ex!) let me down so big disappointment. Ex now gone but Im still looking forward to next rally so Ill see you all there too!

Well BH what can I say, a fundraiser eh! I think the 'friendlies' and i'm not sure who they all are mind, might be looking for some help to raise money for the rally n air ambulance charity. I'm sure they'll be in touch to see what you can do to help. Nice of you to offer being a pretendy newbie lol
Any 'newbies' who attend the Friendlies rally will, no doubt, find that the whole rally scene can be a fun, chilled sociable event.
Believe me, the Friendlies main aim is to dispell the typical public attitude that all bikers are faceless, worthless beer willing rapists who are easy road kill etc by proving to the World (we're working on World domination at the moment) that we are all human beings with families & feelings just like everyone else. We also try to make biking more open to all with family orientated (yes, you all heard right, even you 'special' people) events in the future with family fun days etc. This wasn't possible with the rally, but I won't even go there right now!!
Membership of the friendlies is easy, ride a bike, be willing to help others less experienced than yourself and (most of all) respect others with a friendly demeanour .
As I have said before (on more than one occasion) we are still a new group (we're not a gang, MCC or association - no labels please) and we have already had one hell of a positive response (100%, in fact) from people who have joined ride-outs and the recent maintenance day.
The current core members (who are organining the rally) are always looking for help with events and ideas and membership if free. We are currently looking at a website, but this will not detract from our BM loyalty (honest Matt mate) and we hope that the 'Friendlies' will compliment all other bike groups and associations (i.e. MAG & BMF etc)
If anyone needs any help with preparing for a rally, tips and advise on riding/maintenance or reassurance that the RV myth is simply that, then give us a shout.
Ride safe and stay happy.

Matt's thread re: LINKS
http://www.bikermatch.co.uk/sites/bm/forum/...>
Thanks, yes I read that, but I was asking if I could put a link back to the rally post on another website...NOT if I can put an external link here..... as I have not recieved a yes or no, I guess I'd better not.
