Simmer Dim Rally, Shetland IslandsThe idea for the Rally came from the local Shetlanders who had attended various motorcycle rallies in the UK and FIM rallies abroad. The main idea was to have a rally that was similar in format to the FIM etc - i.e all inclusive. The first year the rally ticket cost £20 which included: badge, food and drink, plus bus to Lerwick on the Saturday night for the carnival. Now 26 years on the rally is still going strong with a committee of approximatley 20 people. The ticket price is now £60 which includes food, drink and a badge, plus loads of great entertainment, including live bands, disco and silly games! Northlink Ferry operators also kindly give a 30% discount for rally attenders.

I am trying to find out when tickets are on sale for 2009 rally , and also the ferry price , have found out that all meals and most of drinks are included in the ferry fare , I know some people who have been before and who will most likely be at Dunbeath this weekend , will ask around and post more info as I find out .
