Out this morning for a few hours before the humidity went up. Low 20's at 9:00 and 28° by the time I got back at midday - that's enough for me.
The only fly in the ointment was that the road over the Buttertubs Pass has been resurfaced so there where still some loose chippings floating about.
Coming back I did feel sorry for the guys resurfacing the road outside Kirkby Stephen; that's hot work in the middle of winter, it can't be fun doing it in a heatwave.
How's everyone else managing?

With 33C here it's too hot for me, although plenty of riders in shorts and t-shirt round here... 🤔🙃🫠 I do however have to take my bike to tge workshop Thursday... just hoping they have air conditioning there as I wait for it....

35 degrees in the truck, no a/c, feel like a lobster thermador. Guess which truck is goung to the mechanics tonight!!!!! Get home, under warm shower gradually getting colder followed by a cold beer. Sounds like a plan.

No question is a stupid question so………each year breaks heat record 🥵 are our roads ok for that changing heat? Also tyres….are they more susceptible to cracking?

The roads can melt a bit, the biggest hazard is side stands sinking into the tarmac.
Extra points are awarded for waiting till the tarmac cools down again trapping the stand 😆

It happened a few years back at my hospital.
A Pan Euro it was, parked outside the hospital entrance gradually capsizing. It was at about 45° when I saw it, I notified security but as it wasn't a traceable staff bike all they could do was wait for the owner to return.
Bloody stupidity really, the previous year I put a dedicated bike parking bay with a concrete base just next to where the owner had parked.
It didn't get encased and security did help him get it out again so the tale has a happy ending 😀

It is still stupid hot, so I took the barndoor screen off Scootie and headed for the hills... lovely up there, I didn't want to come back down 🙂
There were a few other bikes out, although how anyone can cope with full leathers in this heat is beyond me.

Well well well…….the side stand melting into the tarmac actually happened to someone today 😯🫣🏍️ only a little indent but still wow 😮 I think there going to be an increase of puck sales soon 🤣🤣🤣

In some ways not being able to ride my bike during this ridiculously hot period seems to have some compensation despite the frustration 🏍🔥
