Another good feeding station gone.
I called into on today's bimble about and all was shuttered up. A large board proclaimed the owners are retiring, land and buildings now for sale.
The Mill was always busy so it was a viable business, but I doubt it would be profitable enough to cover the mortgage the way land prices are.

I don't know what I'll do with you lot next Easter. All I can suggest is you all have a bloody huge breakfast (or two) before we set off because there isn't a great deal else up there.

There's Tea on the train or the Rocky Road in Bellingham?

Such a shame - was nice food and an interesting place. Maybe someone will take it on as a going concern?

Oh I know that Strom, but they don't do big lunches and I don't want you lot getting too ravenous and eating the locals. Remember a sheep is for bed, not just for breakfast 🙂

How about the Riverside Kitchen at Chollerford?

Fountain Cottage Bellingham might be an option. Looks a reasonable size and has a carpark. Worth a ride out to sample the menu.

Now that seems like an eminently sensible idea...
