Hi all, just decided to do our first weekend tour today, I have booked a hotel for tonight in Weston super mare then have no idea where to head for the rest of the trip. I’m thinking Wales but am open to any suggestions.

Wales it is, managed to get a room for tonight in the brecons then hopefully on to snowdonia tomorrow, weather and accommodation permitting

Well if you're going to the beacons be sure to take the A4069 over Black Mountain. Excellent piece of road and very good ice cream on the carpark near the summit

Thanks for the tip, having seen your post during a lunch stop we took a fairly length detour but it was well worth it, fantastic bit of road. Heading to snowdonia tomorrow and have heard of a road called the devils staircase, does anyone know what road this is?

The Devil's Staircase is a steep hill near Llanwrtyd Wells LD5 4TR, definitely not in Snowdonia so plan to visit it as you leave the Beacons...

It's a nice bit of road - steep, scenic and rather off the beaten track. Well worth riding.
