Any bikers who are mechanically minded near Derby who want to lend a helping hand changing a head bearing on a ST1100.
Never tried something this big before, parts arrives this morning so bracing myself to start.

I,ve just done mine on my st1100 and the fork seals. Its not a complicated job but as with the st1100 just a bit time consuming. No special tools required and plenty of "how to" vids on youtube so why not have a go yourself . As you strip it down lay the parts out so you know what the sequence is for rebuild and get some good grease. I take it your are reinstalling tapered needle bearings rather than the original ball bearing type.

yes was much easier than i thought... forks out real easy, bearing also out easy and back in carefully, 2.5 hours of steady got it done and tapered in and balls out. bike feels very light and a little weird now but ok
