Friends,
I've been contacted by the BBC who are running a new series on niche social networking.
If you are interested in taking part in a new niche dating series for the BBC, please reply on this forum topic so that we can gauge the interest.
Note: This is not a dating show – it’s a documentary about singles with specific dating requirements. The BBC are looking for individuals searching for friendship and love with like-minded people - people who can share in their passion and interests.
If you are based in the UK and are willing to let the BBC follow your unique dating journey in an observational documentary, then please reply here.
More information will be available at a later date.
I think it's going to be an interesting series, and it's be great if we had some of you here to represent the biking community.
Note: The BBC are monitoring this topic to gauge the interest
not saying its a bad thing matt, but not for me,, life is hard enough as is trying to find that special person which I believe is a private journey between 2 people...........
But on the other hand it would let people know that the biking community are normal people, with normal needs, and normal jobs, lives etc....
Yeah it's a great idea showing that bikers have hearts and want 'normal' relationships too but it's hard enough to try and meet someone without having a camera crew follow me around
Besides, the camera adds at least ten pounds... NOT what I need, Lol
Have they considered coming to or organising a group event? Following an individual may be interesting but it would be great to see how we interact as a group. I know what that can be like already. Something like the Valencian Motogp would be good. Like minded people, old and new to the site, bikes, racing, excitement,,, around the town at night. It could be fascinating watching the different interactions.. would have to be quick mind.. next week!
Guess it could bring the kind of publicity money could never buy for the site, but give us warning if cameras are likely to turn up at a meet, so I can arrange to be in the next county - cheers
shame we didn't know about this before - they could have come to the First Ure welcome rally ....errrr, then again, having looked back at the photo's, maybe that wouldn't have been a good idea
But I agree with what LN9 said - them coming to one of our meet ups would be a good idea methinks.
PS - Pete stop trying to blag a free trip to the Moto GP.....but if you get one - can I come with ya??
camera crew and bikers with alcohol----defo no rallies,,,,
Needs to be normal bike outing and meet where everyone is on good behaviour i thinks (well !! most people)
being a sceptical person i would say they not intrested in following the jurney to a love match but more on what type of people are on chat rooms and such web sites. i might and hope im wrong but looking at the news lately and the people that have sufferd after meeting people from chat rooms it seems a coincidence that the beeb ! want to follow us
I personaly wont be taking part coz i dont want my family and none biking mates taking the P I out of me for being here !
If the program makers want someone to relate their experiences with virtual social websites and they need someone to say how useful something like BM is for meeting people then I'd be happy to tell them. I appreciate what you mean about people taking to p!ss though WheelyNealy, a lot of people (who haven't tried it for themselves) still seem to have this view that internet social sites are a tad seedy, but they need to see how well managed these sites are (esp BM) and how un-seedy they are.
